What the authorities in South Carolina have said
- Greenville Police Department says officers responded to a report of an "unresponsive female" at 13:51 local time (18:51 BST) on Sunday
- It says the woman, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, received medical assistance but was pronounced dead at the scene - it says initial investigations show no indications of "foul play"
- A separate statement from the Greenville County Coroner's Office says emergency services were called on Sunday for a woman in cardiac arrest, and an autopsy completed on Monday showed "no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death"

- Oscar winner and former co-star of Panettiere Viola Davis said she wished the "world had more time" with Panettiere, describing her "an amazing talent"
