  3. Phone alert from school 'a bit scary'published at 15:03 BST

    Loveth Gbenekama was at the school gates to pick up her son.

    She said the school alerted parents via an app used to communicate with teachers that "there had been an accident" close to the premises.

    "They didn't know at the time how long the cordon was going to be in place," she told the BBC.

    "Initially I was a bit scared because I didn't know what was going on but the school did communicate further.

    "My son was a bit surprised and did ask why I was here so early."

    Derbyshire Police said: "A precautionary cordon and road closures that were in place earlier today have now been lifted.

    "The potentially hazardous chemicals found at the scene have been safely taken away from the area.

    I'm stood outside Castleward Spencer Academy primary school close to the cordon.

    Parents are now coming to collect their children because the school has put out a notice for them to do so.

    Close by, Royal Mail workers have been told to evacuate the delivery office on Midland Road.

    I'm at the scene and can see a police cordon across Midland Road at the top of Wellington Street and Carrington Street, near the Royal Mail centre.

    There are dozens of postal workers unable to get into the building, waiting outside for an update from the police.

    Traffic is being diverted into the surrounding streets with four or five police cars in attendance.
