Lauren Laverne, The Culture Show

What is Culture?

It's only a seven letter word but it causes disagreement and debate - few can agree on its meaning. The Culture Show are inviting people from Liverpool to get involved and contribute to a debate about culture.

BBC Two and The Culture Show are inviting people to get involved and contribute to a debate about culture. As part of the campaign, 25-foot installations are being set up in London and Liverpool. These giant canvasses allow people to come along and express their views on culture.

Artists, writers, school children, thinkers, designers, taxi drivers, musicians, film-makers, bee keepers, comedians, sportsmen and performers of every kind have pitched in with their own attempts at defining culture.

Culture at St Luke’s

The Liverpool installation will be located at St Luke's Church, Liverpool as part of the Streets Ahead Festival. Come along from 12pm on Saturday 24 May and from 10am on Sunday 25 May, 2008.

You can also join the debate on the show’s website. People can add their own definition of culture or just enjoy the videos, pictures and comments already added by other users and celebrities.

The Culture Show, launched in 2004, covers every kind of culture. On 3rd June 2008 The Culture Show moves to a new prime time slot on BBC Two. Have your say on the meaning of culture by taking part in the event:
