Andy Ball

Join Andy Ball for Saturday Breakfast from 7am-9.30am on BBC Radio Merseyside 95.8FM.

Andy Ball helps you get into the right frame of mind for the weekend with the Saturday Breakfast Show.

A mix of music, essential information and Andy's unique slant on life, the programme also has two of BBC Radio Merseyside's most popular features: Mersey Pilot Stuart Wood keeps us up to date with what's happening on and alongside the river, and
countryside rangers from Halton, Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral keep an eye of wildlife and plantlife in our gardens and parks in Naturewatch.

Saturdays make a pleasant change for Andy - he's up early all week but Monday to Friday as the Man in the Van for Snelly's breakfast show and can be anywhere on our large and busy patch. But on Saturday he know's he'll be warm and dry in the studio.

Andy lives in a small cottage in Lymm near Warrington, with a large garden which he's gradually trying to tame and bring into productive use, with some success already with spuds, salads, sweetcorn and enough green beans to sink a narrowboat on the canal nearby, which is a destination for one of his favourite walks. He's also installed a bird table and feeders which are encouraging quite a few wild species to become visitors.

When time allows he loves walking around Merseyside, North Cheshire and West Lancashire and exploring local villages in traditional markets.
