Fists are an ever-shifting amalgam of indie rock, lo-fi, punk and 1950s pop experimentalism. They cite The Breeders, Jonathan Richman, The Monks, Daniel Johnston, The Ramones and Clinic amongst their influences. Their debut single Cockatoo received big support and airplay from Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy (XFM) and BBC Nottingham's Dean Jackson, who picked them for the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury this year.
