Travel information

With thousands of people expected in Bournemouth over the weekend of the festival, organisers are advising visitors to leave the car at home. Here are some of the alternative travel options, including information on the park and ride.

Park and ride

The park and ride is £10 per car (cash only). It's the most straightforward way to get to and from the festival.

There are three park and ride centres - Littledown Centre (Saturday and Sunday only), Kings Park or Bournemouth University.

From any one of these locations, you can park up and then catch a bus down to the seafront.

Regular services will run to the town centre, with drop-off points close to the event site, at Manor Road, for cars parked at the Littledown Centre and Kings Park and Westover Road for cars parked at Bournemouth University.

Park and ride site addresses

The park and ride sites will be colour coded and sign-posted as you enter the area and get nearer to Bournemouth.

Kings Park – Yellow
Football ground of AFC Bournemouth (BH7 7AF)

Littledown Centre – Red

Chaseside

Bournemouth University - Blue

Park and ride sites will open from each morning at 9am and the last bus will leave the event site at 8:30pm. Gates close at 9pm.

By foot, bike or train

Bournemouth is well served by local transport. If you're coming from further afield, the train station is well connected to the bus network, and frequent buses go into the town centre.

If you're cycling into Bournemouth there are extra cycle stands located along the Eastover Cliff.

During the festival itself, BBC Radio Solent will have the latest traffic news and travel updates.

Road closures

The following roads will be closed for the duration of the festival from 9am – 7pm*: East Overcliff Drive, Russell Coates Road & Beacon Road closed

Closed except for residents' access from 9am – 7pm*: Grove Road, Manor Road, Meyrick Road (from Grove Road), West Hill Road (from Priory Road) and St Michaels Road (from Priory Road).

Parking will be suspended for 24 hours all day on all the above roads. Gervis Road is to remain open but parking will not be permitted. A tow-away scheme will operate in these areas.

*Road closures will remain in place until 10pm on Thursday 28 August only.
