Learning about the different characters in Balamory is a great chance for children to role play and react to the stories happening on the island. Who does your little one want to be today: a teacher, a police officer, a shopkeeper, an inventor, or a vet?

Miss Hoolie runs the Balamory Nursery and she delights in making it a place for everybody and everyone! Her morning song welcomes kids each day to learn, play and dance, inviting you to come along and explore the story in Balamory. Her song is a bright and playful pop tune for children - perfect to get little ones moving in the morning. She always wears her signature green colour.

PC Plum is on the beat in Balamory! Sing along with his uplifting song while he line dances across the island, showing his moves and solving mysteries for the Balamory locals. His introduction song is a friendly western tune. You and your child can join in with the Balamory community chorus and sing "He's PC Plum". He rides his bike and wears his police uniform so everyone knows who he is!

Penny runs the local shop, a community hub and café for all the friendly faces in Balamory. Penny is a very busy business woman, but the community count on her to stock the shop with what they need. Her rock song is energetic and fun, great for getting stuff done! Can you make a game with your little one to tidy up their toys to the music, just like Penny and her shelves? Penny's shop is painted red and she always wears red, too!

Ava Potts is a dedicated inventor, always ready to help her friends when they have a tricky problem that needs a solution. Her song is perfect for coming up with plans and ideas. If your little one loves to draw or build with blocks, this electro pop tune is a catchy beat to enjoy as they play. Ava wears pink, like the pink castle she lives in!

If you have a poorly pet, send for your local vet... Dr Ollie! He loves helping Balamory animals but that's not all. He's a keen actor and storyteller, too! His show tune song has repeating phrases for you and your child to sing along to, with some easy dance moves to remember. Dr Ollie always wears yellow. He is a devoted father to Bonnie and Hamish, who attend the local primary school adjoined to Balamory Nursery.
