Are you a slow loris pro? Take this Deadly 60 quiz all about the amazing animal
Don't be fooled by the slow loris! Although they look adorable, these nocturnal creatures are the perfect predators with some seriously toxic venom. The world's only venomous primate, the slow loris are critically endangered as their cuddly exterior has become appealing to people who want to keep them as pets. In this episode, follow Steve and the Deadly 60 crew as they travel to Indonesia to meet a conservation team trying to stop these incredible animals from going extinct.
Is a slow loris dangerous?
Yes! Whilst the slow loris may look like the perfect pet, they are extremely venomous and powerful nocturnal predators. These animals have huge eyes which mean they have incredible eyesight, helping them to detect and ambush their prey, even in the dark. As the world's only venomous primate, they make their lethal toxin by licking their brachial gland (in their armpits) and mixing their saliva with the oil. Ew!
