Ten fun things to do in the sunshine
Has the sun finally come out to play? Why not make the most of the sunshine by trying some of these fun activities with your friends and family!

🚨 Remember that the sun can be dangerous, so don't stay out in it for too long. Make sure you use sun cream and drink plenty of water or squash! 🚨
1. Have a scavenger hunt
Create your own scavenger hunt for you and your friends to play. Write clues, put them in envelopes and hide them in different places to guide your friends to the ‘treasure’.

2. Create pavement art
Make some beautiful pavement art using some chunky colourful chalks. Remember to ask a grown up first and to wash it away when you have finished.

3. Have a water fight
Cool off with a water fight. Don’t worry if you haven’t got a water gun, you can use household objects like a bucket or a pan and fill them with water.

4. Make a summer playlist
Put together a playlist of your favourite summer tunes and then have a party outside to share them with your friends.

5. Get creative with Blue Peter's "Here's One I Made Earlier"!
You can find even more arts & crafts and recipes on the "Here's One I Made Earlier" page.

6. Learn a new sport
There is no better time to pick up and learn a new sport than when the sun is shining. Why don’t you try a sport that you have never done before.
Want to get your hands on the amazing limited edition Sport badge, designed by football legend Leah Williamson? Of course you do!

7. Fly a kite
Flying kites can be great when the weather is nice but they can be expensive to buy, so if you haven't already got one you can make your own out of scrap paper or old plastic bags.
Follow our instructions on how to make a recycled carrier bag kite!

9. Make utensil bubbles
Make your own bubble solution by mixing 350ml of water, 2 teaspoons of sugar and 150ml of washing up liquid in a measuring jug and then dip kitchen utensils into the bubble mixture to make bubbles.
Remember to clean the utensils when you have finished otherwise your food will end up tasting soapy - yuk!

9. Build a den
Use an old bedding sheet and some chairs to make your own den (remember to ask a grown up first). Draw different shapes on paper, colour them in and cut them out to decorate your den.

10. Cool off with an ice lolly
After all of these activities, you will need something cool you down. Make your own ice lollies using your choice of fruit juice and pieces of fresh fruit.
Or if you fancy an ice cream try making our unicorn ice cream - it's delicious!
