Hawkeye: What the Must Watch reviewers think
Every week, the Must Watch podcasters review the biggest TV and streaming shows.
This week Scott Bryan and Hayley Campbell review latest Marvel spin-off Hawkeye on Disney+.
Jeremy Renner reprises his role as Avenger Clint Barton who teams up with another known archer from the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.

Scott says: “It can be a bit clunky”
“If you are very much plugged into the Marvel Universe, yes it’s a Must Watch. If you’re not that bothered, then no.
“This also does the frustrating thing where you’re not really sure if this is a TV show or a film that’s been split into 40 minute chunks. It has that glossy, cinematic feel - but it also narratively it can be a bit clunky. Other Marvel TV adaptations have also felt like that. I think Hawkeye gets away with it because the action sequences are really impressive. But I do sometimes wonder whether this is just another film and whether it will be forgotten about when the next Marvel thing comes out in a couple of months.”

Hayley says: “I want something stranger”
“I agree with Scott: if you're fully plugged in, then sure, why not? It's fine, but I don't think it's anything special. It's not one of the strange and unusual ones in the way that Loki or WanderVision were, which you could watch even if you weren't a Marvel Universe fan. They were strange and funny whereas this is just a normal superhero show.
“Jeremy Renner is watchable as always, and Hailee Steinfeld is good too. I'm just personally not interested in superhero shows that are just about smashing bad guys - I want something stranger.”
