Telling the time to o'clock
Clock: Strap on your learning pants, it’s time!
Brain: Brain?
Narrator: How about showing Brain some on the hour action Clock?
Clock: Alright! 1 o’clock! 2 o’clock! 3 o’clock!
Narrator: You see Brain, Clock is made up of the numbers 1 through 12…a minute hand…and an hour hand.
1 hour is made up of 60 minutes, and this is shown with one full turn of the minute hand around the clock’s face, whilst the hour hand moves on just one more number.
So there are 60 minutes in 1 hour, got that Brain?
Brain: Brain!
Clock: 12 o’clock!
Narrator: Nice work Clock! How about showing Brain some half past the hour action?
Clock: Alright, let’s go! Half past 1. Half past 2. When the minute hand is pointing toward the number 6, it is half past - or 30 minutes past - the hour. So one half turn means 30 minutes have passed.
Brain: Brain!
Narrator: Good lad, Clock. Time to rest! Get it? Time to…oh forget it.
