Writing about the past – WJECOther past tenses - wedi (have)

Being able to use the past tense correctly is very important when you learn a language. It enables you to speak, write and read about past events and to understand when people talk about the past.

Other past tenses - wedi (have)

If you want to say that you – or other people – have done something, use the present tense + wedi, eg:

Dw i wedi gorffen. – I have finished.

Mae hi wedi gweld. – She has seen.

Mae John wedi gweithio'n galed. – John has worked hard.

Rydyn ni wedi penderfynu. – We have decided.

Question

Imagine that you have arranged a social event at a community centre to raise money for charity.

A reporter asks you how you have prepared for the event. Tell him/her:

  1. I've written to the centre.
  2. I've made posters.
  3. I've made tickets.
  4. I've sold tickets.
  5. I've bought food and drink.
  6. I've invited six bands.
