Useful Links What is RaW? By 2010 two thirds of all jobs will require a reading age of 16 or over. Currently 12 million adults of working age in the UK have reading levels that would not pass a GCSE in English.
The RaW (Reading and Writing) campaign on the BBC will include some of the BBC's presenters and celebs to help break down the barriers to better reading and writing.
RaW will have a range of national and local initiatives, storylines in soaps including
EastEnders, a Test the Nation special, interactive sites, and everything from a reading week to pub quizzes. RaW hopes to drive new people towards reading more and writing better.
