Summerseat Players | New Writing Festival 2027

Summerseat Players, a volunteer-led theatre company based at Theatre Royal Ramsbottom have launched submissions for their inaugural New Writing Festival, taking place in July 2027.
They are looking for original short plays from emerging playwrights aged 18 and over who are based in, or studying in, the Northwest of England (specifically: Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire, Cumbria, West Yorkshire).
Six writers will be selected through open submission. Their work will be staged as part of the festival, and each selected writer will be paired with an established playwright mentor.
One writer will also receive the Best of Festival award, with support to develop their short play into a full-length production for a future Summerseat Players season.
