A new corruption index has been published by the anti-graft watchdog Transparency International (TI) today.

There is a tie in the first place for countries seen to be the least corrupt - and the honour goes to Denmark, New Zealand and Singapore.

African countries have often fared badly in the index.

The organisation says greater efforts must go into strengthening governance across the globe.

The senior programme manager is Doris Baysle.
