Reports from Niger say a fourth member of the military government has been arrested in connection with an unsuccessful plot to stage a coup last month.
A government source quoted by French news agency AFP said the officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sanda Boubacar, had been detained on Saturday.
The four arrested men are believed to be among a group of officers opposed to plans by the head of the military government, General Salou Djibo, to return Niger to civilian rule in January next year.
The BBC's Idy Barou sent this report from Niamey.
