Election campaigning officially starts in Ivory Coast

Official campaigning began for Ivory Coast's much-delayed election at midnight.

The campaigns are ahead of presidential elections scheduled for the end of the month.

Candidates have been touring the country for the past few weeks, but from today campaigning is expected to move up a gear.

BBC Network Africa's John James reports from Abidjan.
