Nigeria is marking its 50th anniversary of independence from Britain, today.

The day has been marred by explosions in the capital, Abuja that have killed at least seven people.
President Goodluck Jonathan was officiating at one of the main events at Eagle Square in the city centre when the blasts occurred.
Police have subsequently confirmed that the explosions were two car bombs.
Journalist Kayode Ogundamisi rushed to the scene of the blasts minutes after the explosions went off.
He described what he had seen to BBC Focus on Africa's Hassan Arouni.
