Ramadan power outages test Egypt's Muslims

The holy month of Ramadan is not just a period of fasting for Muslims, it is the time in the Islamic faith when one thinks of self-sacrifice and the cleansing of thoughts to bring one closer to Allah.

One must definitely not harbour any ill-will against others.

So spare a thought for people in Egypt, where this Ramadan has been hit by the worst power outages in decades.

The situation is heightened by one of the hottest summers on record, and Egyptians are fuming.
