Togo leader sues over love triangle story

Have you heard the story of the lady the president and the international football star?

According to Togo's head of state, Faure Gnassingbe it is a work of fiction that should never have been told.

Today a court in Lomé is to hear a case brought by President Faure Gnassingbé against a private weekly newspaper, L'Indépendant Express.

He is suing the paper for publishing false information and is demanding 200,000 US dollars in damages.

BBC Network Africa's Bola Mosuro spoke to our reporter in Lome Ebow Godwin about the case.
