News of floods and famine have dominated headlines from Niger in the past few months but little has been heard of the country's triumphs.
As the UN launch a Decade for Deserts and the Fight Against Desertification, Niger has been setting an example to the rest of the continent on how to turn land where once nothing grew into a fertile success story.
