A fatal boat accident in the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed at least 80 people, the government have said.

The incident took place yesterday on a stretch of river in the Bandundu province, about 300km east of Kinshasa.

DR Congo is Africa's third largest country, but a lack of good roads means that many people rely on the network of rivers to get around the country.

BBC Focus on Africa's Sophie Ikenye spoke to the Congolese information minister, Lambert Mende Omalanga.
