Security agents in Kenya have been put on high alert in the lead up to next week's crucial referendum on the draft constitution.
Elections held in the country during two decades of multiparty democracy have been dogged by violence and it is feared this referendum will be no exception.
Concern is mounting that the horrific clashes which followed the two thousand and seven polls, which left over one thousand people dead and hundreds of thousands displaced, could be mirrored on this occasion.
One of the regions giving cause for concern is the Rift Valley, as Wanyama Chebusiri has been finding out.
