African Union agrees to increase military commitment in Somalia

African Union leaders at the Kampala summit have agreed to beef up the Amisom troop numbers in Somalia by 2000 soldiers.

It comes as the proceedings in the Ugandan capital draw to an close today.

Although maternal health was the official theme of the gathering, issues of peace and security have taken precedence.

The African Union is often accused of having the 'toothless bulldog' syndrome, so BBC Network Africa's Bola Mosuro asked our correspondent, Joshua Mmali what real progress has been made by delegates on the problem of Somalia.
