Fighting rages in Mogadishu between government troops and al-Shabab

There has been more heavy fighting in Mogadishu between al-Shabab insurgents and loyalist troops being helped by the African peace keeping force Amison.

More than 40 people are said to have been killed since this round of fighting began four days ago and there is grave concern that the fighting could get worse.

BBC Focus on Africa's Hassan Arouni spoke to our correspondent in Somalia, Mohammed Olad Hassan.
