Nigeria's government are calling for a state of emergency to be declared in the country's southern region.
This comes after four journalists and their drivers were abducted by unknown gunmen in Abia State.
Armed militants in the Niger Delta laid down their arms under a government amnesty agreement last year but some armed gangs are believed to have backed out of the deal.
