Tomorrow the Democratic Republic of Congo celebrates 50 years of independence from Belgium colonial rule.
Last night, Belgium's King Albert II flew in to join celebrations.
Officials from both countries claim the visit is symbolic and shows that it is time for both countries move on from the colonial past, during which millions of Congolese were killed.
So how has this visit been perceived by people in Kinshasa?
