Urgent fund appeal for West Africa's Sahel

West Africa's Sahel region is facing a severe food crisis.

According to UK based charity, Oxfam, some ten million people in the sub-region face severe hunger in the wake of harvest failure and drought.

Oxfam have launched a $10 million emergency appeal to help close to a million of the most vulnerable.

Mamadou Biteye heads the operations of Oxfam in West Africa and on the line from Dakar gave BBC Network Africa's Paul Bakibinga the details about today's appeal.
