Four Nile basin countries defy Egypt and sign a new treaty

Four African countries with access to the Nile have signed a new treaty on the thorny question of sharing the river's waters.

The deal was signed by Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Ethiopia in Entebbe; although crucially Egypt and Sudan stayed away from the meeting.

The BBC's Uganda correspondent Joshua Mmali has been following the meeting in Entebbe.
