One year in, there has been mixed reaction to South African President Jacob Zuma's time in office.
He was sworn in to lead the country following a hotly contested vote and the recalling of his one time boss, former president Thabo Mbeki.
Jacob Zuma's government faced the first recession since the country's independence and has made significant inroads in the fight against HIV and Aids.
His administration has acknowledged it is still facing numerous service delivery problems but says that they are all being addressed.
However, all critics agree that 12 months may not be enough to judge the current administrations performance. The BBC's Nomsa Maseko reports.
