A court in the capital Abuja has today formally withdrawn corruption charges against the former head of Nigeria's anti-graft agency, Nuhu Ribadu.
As head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) he led a fiery anti-corruption campaign during the regime of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
However, under President Yaradua he fell foul of the Code of Conduct Tribunal for allegedly failing to declare his assets as a senior public officer while boss of the EFCC.
Mr Ribadu, who is now living in exile, was removed as head of the commission in controversial circumstances in December 2007.
The BBC reporter in Abuja Chris Ewokor was in court to hear the decision this morning.
