There has been an outbreak of fighting in an army barracks in Jonglei State, South Sudan.

The disturbance is thought to be linked to the results of the recent election.

The polls have been criticised; including the voting itself which was said to be hugely disorganised but passed off rather peacefully.

President Omar al-Bashir won the national presidential race, and Salva Kiir, the leader of the former Southern rebels the SPLM, won the vote for president of the south.

Both President Bashir's party and the SPLM were accused of rigging, however.

The BBC's James Copnall spoke to Focus on Africa's Hassan Arouni.
