With just 45 days to go before the World Cup kicks off in South Africa, football fans in the northern Kenyan town, Mandera, have been dealt a blow by local government authorities and religious leaders, who have banned public viewing of the pay TV station, DSTV.
The religious leaders claim the station which hosts many football matches including the popular English Premier League has also been showing undesirable films on some of its channels.
This they claim is corrupting the morals of the mainly youthful viewers.
The BBC's northern Kenya reporter, Bashkas Jugoosday visited the area and has sent us this report.
