The country's former military leader, General Ibrahim Babangida, has his eyes set on the country's top job.

He seized power in a coup in August 1985 toppling the then president, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr Babangida stepped down in 1993 after cancelling an election that was generally regarded as free and fair.

So why is Ibrahim Babangida returning to politics?

He spoke to the BBC's Sophie Ikenye.
