Sudan's elections were dealt another blow last night with the announcement by the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, the SPLM, that it is going to boycott next week's elections in thirteen states in the north.
The party will still contest polls in the south.
But following last week's decision by the SPLM to boycott the presidential elections, this latest announcement threatens the credibility of the polls.
Network Africa's Bola Mosuro asked the BBC's correspondent in Khartoum, James Copnall, why the SPLM say they have made this decision.
