Five weeks on from the coup that toppled President Mamadou Tandja, this past week has seen some interesting developments in Niger.
Not just has a special envoy from the African Union been visiting the capital, Niamey, but some senior political figures, who had been in what would appear to have been exile, have returned to Niger.
For an update on the current state of affairs in Niger, Network Africa's Frederick Dove spoke to our reporter in Niamey, Idy Baraou.
