There's been an angry response from Nigeria to a suggestion by the Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, that Africa's most populous country be divided into two states: one Christian and one Muslim.
The comments have resulted in Nigeria recalling its ambassador to Libya.
Members of Parliament in Nigeria's House of Representatives, who had demanded that the Libyan ambassador be summoned, expressed their irritation at Colonel Gadaffi's comments.
