The Plateau state government of Nigeria announced yesterday that up to 100 suspects have been arrested in connection with Sunday's devastating attacks on the mainly Christian villages.
Members of the Berom community accuse the police of not doing enough to protect them despite a curfew being in place.
Yet the police have denied that they are in any way culpable.
The Plateau state spokesman Dan Manjang said responsibility for protecting the civilians lies with the federal government.
