Zimbabwe's targeted sanctions are to stay in place.

That is the word from the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, after a meeting this morning in London with South Africa's President Jacob Zuma.

Mr Zuma is on a state visit in Britain, during which he made a call for an end to the EU sanctions imposed on some Zimbabwean leaders, especially now that the government of national unity is in place.
