A devastating landslide has hit eastern Uganda's Bududa district.

According to emergency services, more than a hundred people are feared dead; many others remain buried in the mud following heavy rains that caused the disaster early this morning.

Rescuers are digging through heaps of soil with handheld tools in search of survivors and bodies.

The BBC's Joshua Mmali told Focus on Africa's Bilkisu Labaran what had happened.
