With just two months before Sudan's general elections the country has been playing host to former US President Jimmy Carter, who, as head of his renown Carter centre has been monitoring progress ahead of the April polls.

Both President Omar El Bashir in Khartoum and his southern counterpart, Salva Kir held meetings with the former US president whose organisation will be observing the elections.

So what are his feelings?

Our reporter Peter Martell was present when Jimmy Carter met with reporters in the southern capital Juba.
