For years, Chad and Sudan have had very tense relations with each other, they even fight proxy wars by supporting rebellions in border areas such as Darfur and eastern Chad.

But now, in what seems to be a growing warming in ties, the president of Chad - Idriss Deby Itno - is on a two day visit to Khartoum for the first time in six years.

It follows an agreement in January to normalise relations. Our reporter in Khartoum is James Copnall.
