The Somali coastline is often used by immigrants looking for a new life elsewhere, many of them head to Yemen, across the Gulf of Aden.

But the journey can be quite perilous, and some of them fall prey to ruthless boat operators.

News has come of scores of people being left to perish in the sea. Mohammed Mohammed from the BBC Somali Service has been following the story.
