The 14th African Union heads of state summit ends later today in Ethiopia with the leaders due to adopt resolutions on the issues they've been discussing.

Issues surrounding climate change, resettlement of Haitian earthquake victims as well as peace and security have all been on the roster.

Somalia was high on the agenda with the chairman of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping describing it as the continent's Achilles heel.

In his address to the AU assembly, Spain's prime minister called on the UN to lead a multi-national peacekeeping force.

But the top item on today's agenda will be the most controversial one: the next budget.
