A vast amount of ammunition has been discovered in Kenya's Rift Valley region, prompting fears that preparations are being made for more violence ahead of the next elections.

Thousands of rounds of bullets were found in Narok, a small town north west of Kenya's capital Nairobi.

The Rift Valley bore the worst of the post-election violence two years ago, in which thousands were killed.

The discovery comes hardly two months after a cache of military weapons was recovered in the same area and a large security operation has been mounted.

BBC's Anne Waithera in Nairobi told Focus on Africa's Sophie Ikenye the latest.
