    Harry Chapman had an oustanding season for Gateshead in 2025-26

    Harry Chapman has signed a one-year contract extension at Gateshead.

    The 28-year-old was both the Heed's leading goalscorer and their players' player of the season in 2025-26.

    He signed for the north east club in 2025 after helping Barnet to the National League title.

  19. Scunthorpe re-sign midfielder Butterfield

    Scunthorpe United have re-signed midfielder Jacob Butterfield on a player-coach deal.

    The 36-year-old returns to the Iron after turning down a new contract with National League rivals Gateshead.

    Butterfield scored 12 goals in 89 games for Scunthorpe between 2022 and 2024 before leaving for the Heed.

    The Glanford Park side have not disclosed the length of deal the former Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Derby County man has signed.
