About this interview
When I whef, went t' Allisons Kersey, fifty-one, nine'een fity-one all right, nine'een fifty, we was doen' the ditch, and Chalkie Bell diggen it out, and I wus comen' behind with all the crumbs and the water - and I slung it owet. Coo he hollered at me - "No no no no" - he faced the bloody ditch up with 'et, all the low ways. Yeah. Y' know to make 'et look smart. Well, we chucked the bugger out so 'ent din't come back next yeh, sort of, for next year. No, he plastered 'et to the side of the ditch. Cos that was all like this, "Whoa, don't hoss 'et out there boy!!"
