You remember when you were growing up and you really loved music. Like nothing else mattered other than your favourite band.Fifteen twenty years later, and you haven't bought a CD in years because what's on Radio just seems to do grand, and work just drags on forever. Then you hear R.E.M. again playing all the songs you learnt all the words to and played over and over again. The guys sounding just as they did when you loved them from the start. You realise you haven't lost your religion after all.Magical!!! Thanks Mr. Stipe

Thought R.E.M were totally brilliant, with the old songs like Rockville and Fall on Me the best. It was their were a lot of casual fans that did not recognise a lot of the old stuff, but that's not the bands fault is it!
Lauren McDade
R.E.M.Love them seen then at t in the park. Been a big fan from i was small.
Skye
was great! a perfect end to the festival
alycia,eddy
the. is dora the explorer blues clues hi5 go diego go
Michelle
why didnt they play everybody hurts
Will
I was near the front and thought REM were awful, people were desperate for them to be good and they wernt
weeLynn
Absolutely fantastic. Great setlist. Why would they end with Shiny Happy People??? And I am glad they missed out Everybody Hurts for a change - too sad for such an upbeat performance. Can't wait til Twickenham.
Duncan Noble
REM were really fantastic with a few new songs but still with many memorable moments with the old songs that everyone knows, they were definetly the right band to end TITP 08 on sunday night. let's hope next year is as just good.Duncan
Eddie
Awesome performance from the guys again. Thanks Peter, Mike, Michael, Bill and Scott. I was really happy to hear Fall On Me & Rockville too!Can you put the full setlist up please?
James
The guys were awesome, a brilliant way to close a festival! I've seen them live several times before sunday night and you just never get tired of R.E.M.!!I was rather overjoyed to be bombarded with It's the End Of The World & Man On The Moon - as near perfection for a 2 song set closure as you can get!!
thedudemeister
Chico, i dont know what music you like, but this was a great performance, i admit that some songs werent as good as they could have been, but it still rocked. I can't wait till i see them at Twickenham in august, its gona be great
mackie
without a doubt best band of the weekend imo.
Julia
REM were fab - and what a set!! Fall On Me! Don't Go Back to Rockvill! Wonderful!
Dan
Chico: I didn't notcie R.E.M. getting 'boo'd' - not very in line with the love of festivals. Plus if you thought they were that rubbish, why didn't you go watch something else. People who moan at fests are such wasters! And just to add to most people's comments- they totally rocked!
cj hooper
Pure magic...seen them at my first T back in 2003, just as good at my 6th. hopefully they'll play 20th anniversary now. Class Live!
TAJ
REM didn't play half the songs i thought they might. Still good though.
nelson
form is temporary class is permanet
thegingerprince
What a fantastic setlist - we were right at the back and couldn't even see them but they were brilliant. Joint best band at T this year.
Torfinn
To Indigo Rocks, to suggest that R.E.M. should have had 2nd or 3rd billing to RATM, or the Verve is laughable. Thank god your comments are nullified by the disappointment that you express at the absence of Shiny Happy People. R.E.M. were absolutely awesome and, with their stage presence and vibrance, put the bands half their age to shame (Kings of Leon take note)!
travis
totally unpretentious. brilliant. great set of songs. mike stiipe . keep spreading the light.
bev fox
loved it. scattered some of my husbands ashes , while micheal sang this one goes out to the one I love, R.E.M. was one of our bands x happy happy memories x
Naz
I was in the golden circle and as a person who isn't a major fan I thought they where amazing. Didn't hear any boos and if people were then they are just ignorant twazzocks. If they weren't entertained then go and watch prodigy or go somewhere else, they weren't forced to be there and they didn't just pay for REM.
Shug
R.E.M. played an incredible set best I've ever saw them, full of vigour and life and they played 'Begin The Begin', 'These Days' and 'Orange Crush' which made we go a little bit more insane than is right for an adult. (Oh by the way the first song they show on here is 'Man Sized Wreath' Wow! Indeed.
debbie
REM where great and did a great show ending a great wkd scotland luvs u :)
eiluvrem
Fantastic - but why not the whole set? Why did BBC decide only scottish viewers would want to see the whole thing?
Bootlegboab
REM were great, better set than last time, sang my heart out with the rest of the crowd!
Indigo Rocks
REM were okay! They could've ended with 'everybody hurts' or 'shiny happy people'. They should've played Fri or Sat and not closed the Sunday!
The Doctor
REM are really rather stupendous live!
Russell P
that awooga flag was me =]
Distiple Dal
Went to REM's first european show in amsterdam this month and they were superb. i still prefer them in smaller venues though :)
Chico
Absolute rubbish. Were getting boo'd at some points in the performance.
Dollerhyde
I know T in the park is in scotland but that doesnt mean you have to show every scottish act in depth on telly last night. And not R.E.M who are supposed to be the head liners!
sugar/christine
R.E.M at there best.
mhughes
FAO Ginger. Not showing RATM was nothing to do with the BBC. RATM did not want the performance broadcast, probably because they're releasing a Live DVD or something, (Green Day a few years ago was the same). But anyway, REM were magic last night. :)
Mark Kilgallon
wow, T in the park 2003,this was my first ever music festival! REM are great live!
Scene

adamstipe

LMAO @ RATM...just a load of noise that!
Davros
Had a chance to see them at the Brixton Academy in 1987 but chose to go to Margate with my then girlfriend. Oh my god!!!!
King Niall
They are the best
Ginger
Typical BBC pandering to the bland and not showing the likes of RATM
Nicola chandler
Very good well dnexxxxxxxx
~T~
Seen them 7 times between 1984 and now, tomorrow will be number 8! Fantastic band. Could only get Sunday tickets, but it'll do for me! Can't wait.
Voice of Reason
