Lightspeed Champion is the name of the new musical venture by ex-Test Icicle Devonte Hynes, currently signed to Domino Records. Containing musical elements from a variety of genres, Lightspeed Champion is a radically different sound to Hynes' previous band. The band's name comes from a series of comic strips Hynes did as a teenager in his school maths books. Hynes was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Essex, England.

This guy's set was so good - he was quite funny in his geeky sort of way and he is definitely a great talent and an awesome live act!

Not many people I know seem to have heard of them, but the genius (at times comical) lyrics of Dev Haynes backed by a soft voice, a melodic violin and twinkly guitar make them so worth listening to. I've grown to love them immensely, I didn't think I would to be honest at first. But those lyrics are just amazing.
