NARRATOR: 'The Marseillais take their leisure activities seriously. At the start of summer, the city stages a huge weekend event called "Les Jours de Sport". Everyone, young or old can have a go at something they have always fancied trying.'
'From the energetic… to the decorative. And it's all for free!'
CHILDREN: Moi, j'aimerais faire le double dutch.
C'est quoi, le double dutch?
Je sais pas. Si on allait voir?
NARRATOR: 'Le double dutch. This isn't for softies. With two ropes going, you have to skip twice as fast.'
NARRATOR: 'Some sports have just been invented, like "le rush ball", and it takes some getting used to!'
Tu me l'envoies? Comme ça!
Voilà! Un, deux, trois, quatre! Et on la reprend! Côté gauche, maintenant! Main gauche! Attention…Et un, deux… Super! Côté droit! Et allez! Côté droit! Un, et deux! Gauche! Droit! Gauche!
CHILD 4: Oh, mince.
C'était assez facile, et j'ai beaucoup aimé.
NARRATOR: 'Now for the big time! Le football américain!'
TEACHER: Allez, go. C'est bon? Allez!
NARRATOR: 'And a chance to practise the skills of the game.'
NARRATOR: 'Time for everyone to get their strength back. And for something a bit less strenuous.'
TEACHER: Bonjour.
On pousse.
On revient ici.
On ramène la jambe. Et on relâche les bras. Voilà on s'incline.
C'était un peu trop long.
NARRATOR: 'Alors? Vous avez aimé le Jour de Sport?'
CHILD 4: Je me suis bien amusé.
CHILDREN: C'était super!
